The Armory Wharf Cafe in Blaxland Riverside Park located not far away from Homebush Bay, It provides a great meeting and breakfast/lunch place for the cyclist or walker undertaking one of the many tracks that pass through the Riverside Park. The view here is amazing, the cafe is right next to the river and you can see the river cat passed by if you are lucky. This restaurant is really child friendly not only they have high-chair but I notice the colour pencils and drawing paper they provided to the kids too. Highly recommend for family with kids looking for outdoor activities during weekend.

Eggs Benne’ with Tasmanian salmon & spinach on toasted casa panotte, $14

After a long walk, I felt like something hot and gooey so I ordered the Eggs Benedict. The serving size was HUGE and the casa panotte was at least 4cm thick, because this is the first time I tried the casa panotte it feels more like a French toast than an ordinary piece of bread. Due to its thickness I even had difficulties cutting it and asked for the help from JC haha. The eggs were nicely poached, salmon was fresh and well seasoned. However, the let down of this dish was the hollandaise sauce it was overpowered by lemon juice and lack of texture.

Corn cakes served with grilled bacon with avocado and tomato salsa, roquette, $14.50

As the name suggested, this is a corn cakes not corn fritters. Maybe because I am too used to corn fritters so corn and pan cakes doesn’t join the dot for me. But with all that said, the bacon are fried nice and crisp with colourful avocado and tomato salsa next to it.

Conclusion: Great location for breakfast on a sunny day. Generous serving size but slow service toward lunch time as more people finished walking and cycling. Food is a bit of hit and miss but given the nice location and waterview, they have scored extra point. One thing I would like to praise about this restaurant is, the management take customer’s feedback seriously, as I was checking out their website and click inside eatability, for each feedback they received the management team actually took their time to respond and pass any complaints to the staff accordingly.

I love the water views 🙂 I love the egg yolk oozing out of those poached eggs, but shame about the hollandaise sauce.
